U.S. Para-Dressage National Training Symposium
November 20-23, 2013
Thousand Oaks, CA – September 7, 2013- Back by popular demand is the U.S. Para-Dressage National Training Symposium scheduled November 20-23, 2013 featuring Train the Trainer and the Rider’s Symposium. During Fall 2013, the West Coast weekend activities will occur at Somerset Farm in Winters, California. Train the Trainer Workshop will be November 20, while the Rider Symposium is November 21-23. Trainers and riders of all levels that are interested in Para-Dressage are welcome to attend the symposium however, limited spots are available. The symposium is held in conjunction with Carlisle Academy Integrative Equine Therapy & Sports (the education branch for the USPEA), the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and the United States Para Equestrian Association (USPEA). Clinicians and lecturers include: 2012 Paralympic Gold Medal Team Coach for Great Britain, Clive Milkins; international coach and rider Dennis H. Callin; Dressage and FEI Para-Equestrian 4* Judge David Schmutz, Former USEF High Performance Dressage Director Gil Merrick; FEI Veterinarian Dr. Mike Tomlinson; Para-Equestrian classifiers Joann Benjamin and Tina Wentz; and a panel of experts in multiple areas of Para-Dressage sport. Johnson, High Performance Director of Para-Equestrian and Vaulting Assistant to Driving at the United States Equestrian Federation commented about the May 2013 East Coast clinic, “One of the goals of the USEF’s Para-Equestrian High Performance Plan is to work closely with the national affiliates and grass root athletes in order to better prepare them into becoming High Performance athletes. About United States Para-Equestrian Association:
The USPEA is a network of riders, judges, national federation board members, and equestrian enthusiasts. The association gives athletes the ability to get involved and expand their knowledge and experience in the Para-Equestrian sport. The USPEA encourages para-athletes to participate in all disciplines under the para-equestrian umbrella.
