Barbie Roth and Regina Cristo join the United States Para Equestrian Association’s Board of Directors
Wellington, FL, September 25, 2023 – The United States Para Equestrian Association (USPEA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Barbie Roth from Sanger, California, and Regina Cristo from Sand Lake, NY, as new board members. This dynamic duo will join USPEA Interim President Tina Wentz, Vice President Carole Laulis, Secretary Ellie Brimmer, Athlete Representative Donna Ponessa, and Treasurer Natalie Boyko in leading, promoting, and supporting para equestrian athletes across all levels, from grassroots to the international stage. |
USPEA’s mission is to champion para equestrian sports and provide invaluable support to athletes as they pursue their dreams in national, international, and Paralympic equestrian competitions. As a USEF Recognized National Affiliate, USPEA plays a pivotal role in fostering the growth of para dressage and equestrian sports for athletes with disabilities. |
Regina Cristo, a long-time advocate for para equestrian sports, expressed her excitement, stating, “I am honored to be part of the USPEA Board of Directors. Working with a fantastic team to promote, support, and guide all of our US Para Equestrian athletes is an opportunity I look forward to.”
Cristo brings over a decade of involvement in United States Para-Equestrian, with experience ranging from organizing events to supporting athletes on the world stage. Her dedication to the sport and her extensive background make her a valuable addition to the board.
Barbie Roth, equally enthusiastic about her nomination, shared, “I was honored to be asked to be part of the USPEA board. As a long-time equestrian myself and a parent of a para equestrian competitor, Andie Sue Roth, I believe that I will have valuable insights into the path and process of USPEA as the membership grows and the sport gains recognition.”
Roth, who has been deeply involved in para dressage, has witnessed her daughter, Andie Sue Roth, rise from a National Young Rider to an International para dressage competitor. With her background as a riding instructor and her commitment to shaping young equestrians, Roth brings a unique perspective to the board.
As USPEA continues to support para equestrian excellence, both Regina Cristo and Barbie Roth will play pivotal roles in advancing the organization’s mission. Their dedication and passion for the sport make them valuable assets to the para equestrian community.
